A Message From The President, October 2004

What a great year we have ahead of us! I did not expect to be writing another President’s message, but was elected to that position, along with many new Board members at the June 12 th AGM. I am excited about EDEO’s growth last year and our future accomplishments and goals.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the 2003/04 Board, we have many new projects on the go (Psychoeducation groups, Eating Disorder video) and with new funding for them in place, we look forward to these new challenges. If you have an interest in these areas and would like to volunteer some time please contact the EDEO office. If you know someone who could benefit from the information available through the psychoeducation groups (patients waiting for treatment or their parents or partners) – also call the EDEO office. We are most appreciative of the stellar EDEO staff– Kendle, Darlene, and Jennifer. Their expertise makes EDEO run smoothly.

There are a couple of significant changes this year, one of which is our annual conference. Instead of hosting the conference in the spring, we are having it in October, and that has proven to be quite advantageous. Details of this years’ conference are posted on the website, so please have a look, and plan to join us – you will find our keynote and featured speakers very interesting and knowledgeable in their field. As in previous years, the timetable is rounded out with local experts and some fitness and entertainment options…please check on what promises to be an enlightening and fun experience!
Hope to see many of you there…
