Eating Disorder Awareness Month

EDAM is celebrated every February in Edmonton and surrounding
areas in order to bring attention to those among us who
suffer with poor body image, disordered eating and eating
disorders. Events planned (below) for the month will help
patients, their friends and families, health care professionals,
and the general public realize that BMI is not a measure
of self worth. Don't weigh your self-esteem, it's what's
inside that counts.

Film Discussion Groups
Successful current films are addressing topics
such as obesity, nutrition, fast food, bullying,
teasing and peer pressure. These discussions
will provide a unique opportunity to watch selections
from such films and discuss the issues. We encourage
adults, parents and adolescents to attend, especially
as a family. |
