February is Eating Disorder
Awareness Month (EDAM) when we promote healthy
living and positive body image. Because so many
girls and women (and some boys and men) suffer in
solitude with eating disorders (or disordered eating
or body image disorders) it is often awkward or even
unpleasant for them to attend public events, so…
This year in addition to organized
projects for patients, professionals and “The Main
Event” for the public, The Eating Disorder Education
Organization (EDEO) challenges YOU
to find a personally meaningful way to
celebrate diversity and positive body attitudes.
Whether you choose to have dessert
this Friday…
or buy a great piece of lingerie, or
other clothing, that feels good on the body you have
now…
or a pedicure or massage to pamper
that body you value…
or try a Pilates class or start
belly dancing lessons...
Let’s make a personal commitment to
enjoy and value ourselves as individuals.
Love what sets you
apart!
THE CHALLENGE...Let us
know what activity or project you
can devise to celebrate your positive body image –
the best examples will be published here over the
next four weeks...
